Basically the way that Dell works is that it has lots of smaller companies (some doing the same job) working for one big company. They sometimes has 5 or 6 differnt companies who manufacture the same item just in case any of the other supply chains fall apart. And becasue it has all of these smaller companies working for it, it prevents any meltdown in processing, which allows a faster, safer, more reliable and less expensive company.
